A variety of calcium salts are available. Some are derived from natural products such as bone or oyster shell. Calcium carbonate and calcium phosphate products contain the highest amount of calcium per serving (approxi­mately 40%). Calcium lactate and calcium gluconate contain the least amount of calcium per serving.
